Gina Barresi wins High School Teacher of the Year

Sarasota High School teacher Gina Barresi has been named the school district’s High School Teacher of the Year Thursday, Feb. 6.

The announcement came as a surprise to Barresi who teaches English and Reading at SHS.

Taylor Ranch Elementary's Lisa Figuero was awarded Elementary School Teacher of the Year, while Ian Ackroyd from Venice Middle School received Middle School Teacher of the Year.
