During August, the Sarasota County Health Department’s Health In Motion Mobile Medical Unit will provide free and low-cost health services at 13 sites around the county.

Sarasota County Health Department’s Health In Motion Mobile Medical Unit provides medical services to people with no medical insurance and those who do not have a health-care provider to find a medical home for ongoing health care.

No appointment is needed and a registered nurse is available at all sites. Some services are free, including HIV testing, while others are provided on a sliding scale basis based on income.

Services at the mobile unit include diabetes education and screening, blood pressure tests, pregnancy testing, HIV testing, body mass index measurement, adult immunization and health education.

The medical mobile unit will discontinue services at the Sarasota Housing Property at N. Orange Ave due to lack of participation by area residents.

The Walmart Neighborhood Market, 3500 N. Tamiami Trail, has been added to the regular schedule, starting in August.
