A waterfront home on the northern tip of Siesta Key sold for $10 million, the second highest sale price for a residential property in Sarasota County in two years. The sale was only behind the sale of a home at 825 Longboat Club Road, which closed on April 11, 2011 for $12.5 million.

The six-bedroom property is called Snook Inn for its Old Florida resort-like feel, according to a release from Michael Saunders & Co. Agents with the Sarasota-based firm, one of the leading brokerages in the region, represented both the buyer and the seller in the transaction.

The home, with a deep water, double-vessel boathouse, is on nearly two acres with 500 feet that front Sarasota Bay, according to the release. The architect was Clifford Scholz and the builder was Michael Collingwood. The home’s features include an antique pine-paneled library, deluxe custom millwork, oversized waterfront verandas and a one-bedroom guest suite attached to the boathouse. A resort-style swimming pool is outside, in addition to shuffleboard courts, according to the release.
