Athlete of the Week: Alana Kutt

Six-year-old Alana Kutt recently won the Walt Disney World Resort “Little Linksters” Junior Masters Florida Tournament at the Oak Trail Course in Orlando. The Tabernacle Christian School first-grader competed against seven boys and one girl in her first tournament. Here is an inside look at this week’s Athlete of the Week.

What was your reaction when you won the Disney tournament?
I was happy because I won a trophy.

What did you enjoy the most about the tournament?
Hitting my first shot. I hit it right down the middle.

How long have you been playing golf?
I had a club in my hand (before) I was 2 years old. I started playing when I was 17 months old.

What do you enjoy the most about golf?
Hitting. You get to hit balls.

Do you play any other sports?
I do horseback riding, gymnastics and I’m starting ballet.

Of the sports that you play, which is your favorite?
Golf. It’s just the most fun.

Do you have any pets?
I have a rabbit named Brownie. It’s brown and white.

Do you know what you want to be when you grow up?
When I graduated from kindergarten, I actually said a marine biologist. I want to train with dolphins.

Who is your favorite Disney princess?
Sleeping Beauty. She’s pretty.

What’s your favorite color?
Pink.

What’s your favorite animal?
A horse. That’s my dad’s favorite, too.

Do you have a favorite book?
“Brave.” It’s just fun.

What’s your favorite food?
Ravioli.

Do you have a favorite TV show?
“Animal Planet.” There’s a bunch of animals on it.

What’s your favorite subject?
I have a lot of science. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’ll see.

Do you have any siblings?
No, I’m an only child.
