April 1
Vehicle crash
11:05 a.m. — 200 block of Beach Road.
Vehicle Crash. A motorist driving a silver Honda and two mopeds were involved in an accident that reported no injuries and only minor damage.

Truck hits man
5:49 p.m. — 900 block of Beach Road. Vehicle Crash. A pedestrian was walking southbound in a parking lot when a man backed his pickup truck out of a parking lot, hitting the pedestrian in the knee with his attached trailer hitch before stopping the truck. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital for knee and neck pain.

April 2
Pavilion problems
12:45 a.m. — 900 block of Beach Road.
Trespassing. A man reported people using drugs near the bathrooms of the Siesta Beach pavilion. Police noticed a man on the roof of the pavilion talking to some people on the ground. An officer jumped on a soda machine and told the man on the roof he was under arrest for trespassing on a structure after park hours. Upon arresting the man, his brother confronted officers and refused to step away, so he was also arrested. The brother was placed in a wrist lock all the way to the patrol car because he kept screaming and trying to pull away from the officer.

Indecent exposure
5:09 a.m. — 700 block of Birdsong Lane. Impaired Person. A drunk woman wearing a skin-tight shirt and no pants tried to gain access to a woman’s house because she was certain it was her own residence. Police asked the homeowner for a towel to cover up the woman and took her to the hospital after determining she was too drunk to remember where she lived.

Patient escapes
6:30 p.m. — Intersection of Higel Avenue and Little Pond Lane. Suspicious Circumstance. A nurse said a patient ran out of a medical facility while she was evaluating him. Police found him on his way home and placed him into protective custody after he admitted making comments to the nurse about killing himself.

April 3
Fishing fiasco
2 p.m. — 1000 block of Siesta Drive.
Theft. A man told police that someone stole his driver’s license and tackle box that were sitting on the curb while he was fishing from the Siesta Bridge.

Family feud
3 p.m. — 400 block of Avenida Del Norte. Criminal Mischief. A man reported someone keyed his car overnight and caused $1,000 worth of damage. The man believes the friends and family members of a man in jail for two years blame him for the incarceration and are most likely responsible for the damage.

Fender bender
5:57 p.m. — Intersection of Midnight Pass Road and Solitude Lane. Vehicle Crash. A beige Toyota Prius and a black Mercedes Benz were sitting on the side of the road waiting for police after they got into an accident.


APRIL 1: BRIGHT IDEA
5:42 p.m. — 5200 block of Ocean Boulevard
. Fight. A group of juveniles was reportedly fighting over a pair of missing sunglasses. The group had dispersed upon police arrival. It was discovered the issue had been resolved, and the sunglasses were returned to the rightful owner.
