Early voting for all Longboat Key registered voters begins today at Town Hall for the March 15 municipal election.

Longboat Key registered voters will make decisions on two ballot questions on the ballot.

The town’s residents will be voting on a referendum question, seeking voter approval for a $16 million beach project, which includes the construction of erosion control structures on the north end of the island. The project cost also includes placing sand along the north end and other high erosion areas island-wide.

Also on the ballot is a town charter amendment question, which asks voters to clarify what is considered a partial term for commissioners.

Early voting is available March 7-13 at Town Hall, 501 Bay Isles Road. Voting hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday; and 1-5 p.m., Sunday.

Town Clerk Trish Granger said there were no lines and just a couple of voters at Town Hall as early voting began today.
