Beggars can't be choosers

He’s been “begging” for at least 30 years, and that’s exactly how he got his name. Flashing a smile, a dolphin nicknamed “Beggar” has become an icon in the Intracoastal Waterway, between Nokomis and Venice. Sweet as pie, he’ll swim up to any boat begging for handouts. Anita Voth captured the photo while taking her family, visiting from Canada, for a boat outing.

(Although it’s wonderful to see a wild dolphin swimming up to your boat, just remember that feeding dolphins is illegal. Marine Patrol will fine anyone who feeds him.)
