America’s Promise Alliance announced Sept. 21 that Sarasota County has been named a winner of the alliance’s “100 Best Communities for Young People” competition.
The designation recognizes communities that make youth a priority by implementing programs to help keep children in school and prepare them for college and workforce.
The 2010 recognition marks the first win for Sarasota County in the competition.
