+ Crab claws grab attention this season
The employees of Moore’s Stone Crab Restaurant & Marina are once again back out on the water and bringing in plenty of fresh stone crab claws as of Oct. 15 — the official start of stone crab season. On good days, they are able to bring in 2,000 to 4,000 pounds of stone crab claws from their traps.

Co-owners Paul Moore and Robert Hicks have been hard at work bringing in, preparing and icing the claws in order to get them ready for consumption.

“We’re having a good start for this season,” said Hicks.

They will continue bringing in stone crabs from their traps until May 15.
