JV Mustangs finish third at Marauder Duals

The Lakewood Ranch High JV wrestling team finished 3-1 to capture third place at the Marauder Duals Dec. 4 at Clearwater Central Catholic.

The Mustangs defeated Indian Rocks Christian (60-24), Clearwater Central Catholic (49-27) and Manatee (53-27). Lakewood’s lone loss was to Tampa Jesuit (40-30).

Freshman Jacob Soles (119 pounds) bumped up and wrestled in the 125-pound weight class in only his second tournament. Soles pinned all four of his opponents to go undefeated in the tournament. He was named the team’s Most Outstanding Wrestler and given a plaque for his accomplishments.

Alan Jackson (135), Ryan Golden (140), Sam Harper (160), Tim Castilloe (189) and Alex Rickerd (285) also went undefeated for the Mustangs.
