+ Le Macaron to open soon on St. Armands Circle

Rosalie Guillen and her daughter, Audrey Guillen Saba, will open Le Macaron pastry shop at 382 St. Armands Circle. They hope to open the French bakery, which will serve 15 flavors of French macaroons, along with coffee and croissants, this weekend.

Guillen and Saba are originally from Provence, France, and will bake all of the pastries in the store.

The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week. For information, call 552-8872.

+ Alternative Health Care Center offers new treatment
Margot Walbert, doctor of oriental medicine and owner of the Alternative Health Care Center, 5370 Gulf of Mexico Drive, Suite 204, now offers Acupuncture Point Injection Therapy, a treatment in which natural, sterilized substances such as homeopathics, Chinese herbals or vitamins are injected into acupuncture points.

+ LLSA Chamber adds new events to upcoming schedule

The Longboat Key, Lido Key, St. Armands Key Chamber of Commerce will hold a joint chamber mixer with the Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, at The BeachHouse Restaurant, 200 Gulf Drive, Bradenton Beach. Miller Electric will be honored for being named 2009 Small Business of the Year by both chambers. Cost is $5 for members and $10 for non-members.

A special business networking event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, at the Helmsley Sandcastle Hotel, 1540 Ben Franklin Drive, Lido Key. The event includes a contest for “most creative flip-flops.” Cost is $5 for members and $7 for non-members.
