County vies for stimulus

Sarasota County requested more than $45 million in federal funds from the Obama administration's stimulus packages to complete more than two dozen projects.

Dick Clapp named mayor

After a couple seconds of awkward silence, the District Two commissioner was named mayor. He was unanimously elected to the position. Commissioner Kelly Kirschner was named vice mayor.
