Community members tasted wine and cheese pairings Thursday, July 18, at Whole Foods to benefit Children's First, a non-profit organization that serves more than 600 of Sarasota County's most vulnerable children and their families. Approximately 50 people attended the event. Whole Foods comes out with two lists of top ten wines each year, once in the summer and once in the winter.

Girls Incorporated of Sarasota County went on a field trip Thursday, July 18, to Mote Marine Laboratory. Girls in grades six to eight learned about the small critters that live in Sarasota Bay. The girls caught the critters in a net, observed them and learned about them. Intern Kelly Munch taught the girls about the bay and fishes that live in the ocean. After the girls visited the aquarium.
