The 21st annual St. Armands Art Festival took place Saturday, Nov. 13 and Sunday, Nov. 14 on St. Armands Circle. The festival included more than 175 artists showing off their artwork.

Key Niners kick off season

The Key Niners Association is off to a great start to their 2010-2011 season. The group of approximately 75 women, who play 9 holes every Thursday morning, held their opening luncheon on Thursday, Nov. 11, at the Longboat Key Club Islandside Golf Course. The winnning foursome was Carol Meese, Regina Repenning, Linda Schroeder and Jayne Weiss.

U.S. Marine Corps celebrates 235th year

Eight years ago, Walter Bladstrom, Elliott Metcalfe and Tom Smith organized a small luncheon at the Marina Jacks restaurant, with only 14 people in attendance. The celebration has since grown to more than 100 people, who range from age 26 to 96.
