Our View: Long may it wave

Surely, we're not alone in thinking that we, as Americans, are having our American ideals and patriotism tested to new limits lately. And now this one: the Bergdahl for Taliban terrorists, which occurred in front of the backdrop of the 70th anniversary of D-Day. Talk about mixed messages.

Cops Corner

June 3 Will walk for food 6:36 p.m. - 4000 block of GMD. Suspicious Person. A man asked a convenience store clerk if she could donate a sandwich to him and said he was walking the state for world peace. Police found the man walking toward Sarasota. He had two outstanding warrants, but neither was extraditable. Police drove him to Sarasota, at his request.
