Sarasota woman uses grocery bags to make mats for the homeless

It used to take Sarasota's Michele Penn 33 hours to make the mats she produces for homeless people to sleep on — which are made out of recycled plastic grocery bags — but now it only takes eight.

After a whirlwind 10 months, Sarasota skateboarder Jake Ilardi, who trained at Payne Skate Park, finds himself among the sport's elite. He won the Red Bull Roller Coaster event in Munich on June 23 and is sponsored by Nike SB among other companies.
