East County teens skate to states

The Manatee County hockey team finished its season with a 20-1-1 record, earning the top seed in the Central Division. The team will now compete for the Central Division Championship March 5-6 in Brandon.

Deputies searching for bank robbery suspects

According to Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports, at about 10:30 a.m. this morning, two suspects entered the BB&T Bank at 5375 University Parkway. Witnesses said the suspects were armed with handguns. They jumped over the counter, pointed the guns at employees and demanded money.
