Woodland shows appreciation for nurses

To celebrate National Nurses Appreciation Week May 6-12, Woodland - the Community Church will be baking and delivering cookies to nurses at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center and schools in the area as part of the "Luvin' from the Oven" campaign.

As next-door neighbors with 4-month-old daughters, Nadia Wood and Olivia Macey and their babies, Haven and Ava, have grown close. "(Olivia's) husband wants them to be tennis doubles," Nadia says with a grin. "He's determined they'll be doubles champions."

In the last two months, we featured Adrian Shawn Littlejohn, the 1-year-old son of Lakewood Ranch coach Anthony Littlejohn who battled bravely a rare cancer, twice on our cover. Sadly, he died at 9:15 a.m., May 1, resting comfortably in his mother's arms.
