PHOTO GALLERY: PMP Winter Residency and Super Strings

January 2 was the culmination of what 25 students have been looking forward to since August. A huge tent on USF Sarasota-Manatee's campus packed a full audience to witness the young musicians play under the direction of Itzhak Perlman. The mostly local students from different schools and of varying ages ranging from 10 to 18 auditioned in August and attended two afternoons of workshops throughout the summer and fall to prepare a violin solo. They played Antonio Vivaldi's Violin Concerto in A minor, Op. 3, No. 6, movement 1 and were accompanied by the PMP String Orchestra.
