May’s graduations give way to the weddings of June, and for more than two decades, Savor Sarasota Restaurant Week, which runs from June 1-14 this year.

During this fun-filled promotional period, more than 60 eateries in Sarasota County will serve two-course lunches for just $25 and three-course dinners for $45, with many offering extras like wine pairings and signature cocktails.

Originally started by the predecessor to the tourist group Visit Sarasota in 2005 to drum up business after the snowbirds leave, Savor Sarasota has become a much-anticipated event. It’s right up there with the Forks & Corks Festival at The Ringling Courtyard, scheduled for Jan. 21-25, 2027.

Savor Sarasota is an excuse to get out of your culinary comfort zone and try a new restaurant or to take a budget-oriented trip to one of your pricier favorites. It’s also a way to show support for local businesses.

When Visit Sarasota surveyed last year’s 62 participants in Savor Sarasota, the 26 restaurants that disclosed their numbers (42% of participants) said they served 6,520 lunches and 24,101 dinners. Those seatings brought in $163,000 in lunch revenue and $1,084,545 in dinner sales.

“Savor Sarasota really is my favorite time of the year,” says Erin Duggan, president and CEO of Visit Sarasota County. “It’s exciting to see our restaurant community come together to create multi-course dining experiences, while giving chefs a chance to showcase new dishes and guest favorites.

There’s even a digital app that can be downloaded to guide your journey on what is billed as the “Flavor Trail.” It can be downloaded at VisitSarasota.com.
