The Rotary Club of Longboat Key is inviting community members to check out its leadership opportunities as members prepare for the upcoming "passing of the gavel."

President Terri Driver plans to stay on as president for another term. But she said there are plenty of ways for those interested in giving back to the community to get involved, including an open position for vice president.

The club, which met May 5 at All Angels Episcopal Church, also reviewed other open positions, including one to head their youth reading outreach.
