Keep an eye out for a standup special coming from Longboat Key's very own Cliff Hornsby, aka "Gerry Atric."

The 85-year-old comedian is a breath of fresh perspective in the comedy world, which he recently proved as a finalist in Florida's Funniest Comedian Contest.

Based on his performance, which earned a standing ovation, comedian and producer Ron Feingold booked a taping of Hornsby's set for Nov. 11 at Open Bar Comedy. The taping kicks off his 2026 tour titled "Still Above Ground."

Longboaters recently had the chance to enjoy his performance at the Comedy Night fundraiser to help rebuild from recent hurricanes.
