Circus fans of all ages can experience the best of the circus arts at affordable prices thanks to the ongoing partnership of The Circus Arts Academy and The Ringling. From the group that brought you The Jersey Tenors comes a rousing tribute to the band that took America on a “Surfin’ Safari” in the early 1960s. The concert and block party series returns with Big Night Out, which will play Latin, R&B and island dance music. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Healthy Start Coalition of Sarasota County. The winner of the 2020 New Play Festival, Jalex Scott’s “The Mantle” follows Benny Craft as he says his goodbyes on what could be the last day of his life. Craft has plans to post a suicide note on social media at midnight, but is he really looking for somebody to talk him out of it? Runs through July 9.

For more than two decades, The Players Centre has provided local playwrights with their opportunity to read their plays out loud in front of an audience. The Tamas Nagy Trio performs folk jazz with Eastern European influences. A native of Hungary, vocalist Nagy plays guitar and brings a personal note to his interpretations. He is joined by Jack Berry on bass and Jared Johnson on drums. Registration is required. Jazz Happy Hour continues July 26 and Aug. 9 and 23.
