Shots fired Saturday night in University Town Center area in Sarasota.

Those riding in two sedans exchanged gunfire on Cattlemen Road in Sarasota on Saturday night but no injuries were reported.

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office received reports Saturday evening about an exchange of gunfire between two vehicles on Cattlemen Road in Sarasota near University Town Center.

Reports came to the Sarasota Public Safety Communications Center at 7:30 p.m. Saturday about two vehicles exchanging gun fire in the University Town Center area.

The shootings were reported in the 200 block of Cattlemen Road according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Office said there were no known injuries and no known property damage.

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office report said according to witnesses, the two sedans were seen traveling northbound on Cattlemen Road toward University Parkway.

Northbound lanes in the 200 block of Cattlemen Road were temporarily closed. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with related information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 316-1201.
