Whether you're of Irish decent or just Irish for a day, the Irish Celtic Festival is back just in time for St. Patrick's Day.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 12, the annual event will take over Greenbrook Adventure Park, 13400 Adventure Place, Lakewood Ranch.

The event will feature new entertainment this year, with performances by Cahal Dunne, the Cawte Dance Academy of Lakewood Ranch, Ballads & Bodhrans and others.

A new event this year, the Irish Relay Race, which begins at 1 p.m., will offer adults a chance to compete while drinking beer. Teams of four will visit four stations during the race, with prizes given to first and last place.

"Some people drink fast," event organizer Frank Shea said. "But a good beer drinker doesn’t waste a drop and enjoys the beer, which is why we'll give prizes to first- and last-place finishers."

The event will also feature games, food and other activities for children and adults. The Lucky Dog Parade, an event staple, begins at 12:30 p.m.
