BLOOD ON THE FLOOR
1:24 a.m. — 1490 block of Main Street
Dispute: A man stepped on a piece of glass near the dance floor at a nightclub, cutting the bottom of his foot. The man went outside to see how bad it was, at which point a bouncer began making rude comments to him, he said. The bouncer told him the incident wouldn’t have happened if he wasn’t wearing flip flops, and also made derisive comments about the man’s weight. The man was very upset with the bouncer, and was highly agitated when the manager made contact with him. By the time an officer arrived, the man was calm and exchanged information with the manager. There was a small cut on the man’s left toe, but he got into a car with his friends and left the area.

9:05 p.m. — 1000 block of Villagio Circle
Property Damage: A man called the police regarding a burglary in progress, but hung up while reporting the incident. Officers met with the man and a woman at the scene. The man said he is just friends with the woman, and she comes down from Orlando to visit. The woman said she moved to Sarasota to live with the man as a couple. The man said he was sleeping when he heard someone breaking into his home, but he eventually realized it was the woman. The woman said she found out the man had another girlfriend in Orlando, and she was trying to collect the last of his belongings before she moved out.

3:23 p.m. — 800 block of 42nd Street
Misc. Officer: A woman reported that a man was driving an all-terrain vehicle all over the street. When an officer arrived at the scene, the man was outside by the ATV, but wasn’t riding it. The officer told the man that he was not allowed to be driving the vehicle on the streets, and the man’s aunt assured the officer that he wouldn’t.
GREEN THUMBING YOUR NOSE
6 p.m. — 1700 block of Main Street
Property Damage: Employees at a restaurant witnessed a woman pulling plants from a pot outside the building and throwing them onto the ground. The employees said the woman has been a constant nuisance, and when they confront her, she yells profanities and makes obscene gestures. The employees who witnessed the incident all gave a similar description of the woman, and identified the same person when presented with a series of photos of potential suspects. One witness reported that three plants were ripped up, with an estimated value of $45 in damage.
