Dispute: A Sarasota Police officer, responding to a location of a dispute that occurred days prior, met with an employee who stated a woman previously entered the establishment and began to verbally accost patrons and employees. At one point, the woman spat into a drink and then ordered a bartender to pick it up.
The subject had been seen at the establishment on several occasions recently, according to a report. Employees have become increasingly concerned her aggressive behavior is escalating and begun to fear for their safety. The manager said she wanted the woman, who was not at the location at the time, trespassed
The officer spoke with the general manager by phone, who said she is aware the woman owns firearms. She was advised to contact law enforcement immediately should the woman return and an order of trespassing could be issued.

Trespassing: While on routine patrol, an officer observed a man pacing back and forth on the sidewalk outside an establishment while speaking with groups of patrons. He was also seen walking inside the doorway of the business multiple times prior to being approached by the officer who, according to the incident report, is familiar with the subject because of prior incidents.
A database query revealed the man was trespassed from the location on March 29, 2026, and was therefore in violation of that order. The subject was placed in handcuffs and taken to Sarasota County Jail without incident.
3:58 p.m., 500 block of South Pelican Drive
Harassment: A woman told a police officer her ex-boyfriend has been harassing her for the past year. The man, she advised, will leave letters in her mailbox advising her — possibly in an apparent attempt to impress — that he penned a piece of literature featuring her as a character.
The genre of the book was not disclosed in the incident report.
The complainant advised the subject has not made any direct threats of violence, but she was concerned about possible escalation. She added she has not witnessed the man placing the epistles in her mailbox, but they are addressed by him.
The most recent package was received earlier in the day in an envelope devoid of appropriate postage — in itself a violation of federal law — which happened to be a chapter from the book he claims he is trying to have published. She said she wants to file a formal report to help bolster her case for a no-contact order.
3:23 a.m., 1100 block of North Washington Boulevard
Disturbance: An officer parked across the street from a location in response to recent reports of fights and people drinking in the parking lot of a business at closing time. The officer observed several people start drinking in the parking lot and, as is often the case after a long night of alcohol consumption, a group of men began “to square up with each other about to fight,” according to the incident report.
The officer activated his overhead lights and siren and drove into the parking lot to de-escalate the situation. Multiple fellow officers then arrived at the scene and stood by until the parking lot was cleared.
