Couples renew love, say 'I do' again

The annual vow renewal ceremony Say 'I Do' Again brings out hundreds to Siesta Key Beach.

Among the more than 380 guests in attendance were thousands of years of commitment and love Sunday, Feb. 14 at Siesta Key Beach. 

Nice advice

Larry and Pat Bennison
Married: 45 years

Advice for newlyweds: Don't go to bed mad. 


Horace and Hood Seeley-Brown
Married: 45 years
Song: " I have 'Ode to Joy' as the ringtone for when she calls. Whenever I'm with anybody they know who's calling," Horace Seeley-Brown said. "And he better pick up," Hood Seeley-Brown said.
Advice for newlyweds: Communicate, communicate, communicate.

Ted and Mary Lou Allison
Married: 55 years

Advice for newlyweds: Make sure you know each other as well as possible and that you can talk to each other.

The record-setting crowd gathered for the annual Say 'I Do' Again Valentine's Day vow renewal ceremony host by Sarasota County Parks and Recreation. Per tradition the couple married the shortest and the longest time were recognized. James and Anna Mae Duke were pointed out in the crowd for being married 74 years. While newlyweds Chris and Sam Valeo celebrated being married for two months. 

All of the couples recited the vows given by judge Charles Roberts. Following the ceremony many couples stayed on the beach to dance and enjoy the sunset.
