Hillstrom named in two lists of top physicians

Dr. Robert Hillstrom, of Hillstrom Facial Plastic Surgery, received recognition from two peer review organizations in May. 

Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. named Hillstrom on its “Top Doctors” list for the area. The organization is a health care research and information company that provides potential consumers with information about physicians. Regional Top Doctors who make the list are ranked in the top 10% to 15% of physicians of their specialty in the nation.

Hillstrom was also selected for the 19th consecutive year for the “Best Doctors of America” list, which is compiled through a peer review survey of more than 30,000 physicians.

Microsoft opens June 11 at UTC Mall

Microsoft announced it will open its new store at the Mall at University Town Center with a ribbon-cutting at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 11. During the ceremony, Microsoft will donate $1 million in grants to four local nonprofits. Derrick Brooks, an NFL Hall of Fame player, will be available at 6 p.m. to meet 200 fans and play Xbox. 

Taylor Morrison debuts new home collection

Homebuilder and developer Taylor Morrison recently unveiled its Coach Homes collection at Taylor Morrison’s Esplanade at Lakewood Ranch. The homes have a California Tuscan-inspired architecture with two or three bedrooms and up to three bathrooms. Homebuyers can choose from eight floor plans with 1,717 to 2,393 square feet.

Esplanade is a gated community on 600 acres north of State Road 70. At full build-out, the community will have about 1,250 homes. The community includes an 18-hole golf course, pool and spa, tennis center, walking trails and kayak launches. 

Keller Williams celebrates RED Day

Keller Williams offices around the world closed May 14 for RED (renew, energize, donate) Day to allow associates to volunteer.

Keller Williams Select at Lakewood Ranch associates painted and planted a butterfly garden and served food at the Salvation Army, in Sarasota, and also pressure-washed the Everyday Blessings Foster Care facility.

Albritton’s Nursery in Sarasota donated plants, pottery, mulch and soil for the butterfly garden.

Legend Senior Living program wins safety award

Legend Senior Living’s SafetyWorx program received the Best of the Best Award from the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA).

The program aims to improve safety and reduce injuries among associates.

“The SafetyWorx program is just one piece of our continued dedication to creating the best new industry practices,” said Tim Buchanan, CEO of Legend Senior Living, in a news release. “It has had a transformational impact at all levels of the company, ultimately benefiting all of the associates and residents we serve.”
