On Friday, members of the Kiwanis Clubs of Longboat Key, Siesta Key and Sarasota joined members around the world in celebrating the 100th anniversary of Kiwanis International at Florida Studio Theatre. Following luncheon, members hear a presentation from former Kiwanis International President Bob Moore. This year also marked the first since the Kiwanis clubs of South Sarasota and Siesta Key have merged.

Sarasota Police Department Chief of Police Bernadette DiPino was the featured speaker and she thanked members for their continued cooperation with officers. She also mentioned the similarities of the programs and priorities the Sarasota Police Department shares with Kiwanis.

"It's people like you, organizations like Kiwanis that partner with us to help reduce crime," DiPino said.

To conclude the meeting members joined together in singing "Happy Birthday" to Kiwanis International.
