All Faiths Food Bank hosted a Cooking Matters class offered parents hands-on cooking classes. The Cooking Matters classes were held at Alta Vista Elementary for parents of children attending the Eagle Academy summer program. Over the course of six weeks, the classes equipped parents with the necessary skills they need to shop, cook, and eat with nutrition and budget in mind.

One of the two-hour classes that met weekly for six weeks was a shopping trip to a local grocery store. The trip helps students learn the importance of reading and understanding food labels.
