Board approves Lakewood Ranch project

In a 4-1 vote Thursday, Manatee County commissioners approved plans for a 1,999-home project in Lakewood Ranch, east of Lorraine Road.

Lakewood National and Bridgewater East are two separate communities being developed holistically by Lennar on 1,389 acres. The project is bordered to the south by State Road 70. The project’s eastern and western boundaries will be two future thoroughfares Lennar builds, Bourneside Boulevard and Uihlein Road.

Commissioner Robin DiSabatino voted against the project.
