Manatee County School District seeks committee members

The Manatee County School District is seeking the checks to its balances.

The district needs additional members for its Audit Committee — a group that recommends appointments of the internal and external auditors, reviews the plan and reports of those auditors and communicates between the school board, the district's financial team and the auditors.

Committee members must attend six to eight meetings throughout the year and fulfill certain criteria to be considered.

Applicants must live in Manatee County, and have retired from or hold a CPA position or been employed in a financial role with a school district.

Interested individuals should submit a letter expressing interest in the position, while also providing contact information and a summary of work experience.
