+ Three businesses close St. Armands locations
Three businesses have recently closed their St. Armands Circle locations.
Both The Scandinavian Shop and Nautical North closed July 15.
The Scandinavian Shop has another location in Gulf Gate that remains open, and Nautical North maintains a store in Annapolis, Md., and its online business.
Sarasota Yogurt Co. closed its Circle store July 26 and will soon open a Sarasota store. Daiquiri Deck will expand into its former first-floor space on the Circle later this year.
+ Patchington event to benefit SPARCC
Patchington will hold “Party With a Purpose” from Sept. 18 through Sept. 20, at each of its 20 stores in Florida and both of its New Jersey locations to benefit local domestic violence charities.
The event at the St. Armands Patchington, 386 St. Armands Circle, will raise funds for the Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center (SPARCC). Customers who donate $10 to SPARCC will receive a ticket worth 25% off their in-store purchase on event days.

+ Lazy Lobster Longboat Key resumes its lunch service
Lazy Lobster Longboat Key, 5350 Gulf of Mexico Drive, resumed lunch service this week. Hours are now 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 to 9 p.m. daily. For information, call 383-0440.
+ Dining specials that benefit nonprofits continue
The Columbia Restaurant and the Chiles Restaurant Group are hosting dining specials in September that benefit local nonprofits.
Through Sept. 21, Mar Vista Dockside Restaurant & Pub, the Sandbar Restaurant and the BeacHhouse Restaurant will donate $1 from the sale of each grouper sandwich and burger toward the national Share Our Strength Dine Out for No Kid Hungry program, which aims to end childhood hunger in America. During September, the Columbia will donate 5% of checks at each of its seven locations to the charity of the customer’s choice.

+ Key Club golf course improvements continue
The Resort at Longboat Key Club recently completed the installation of new grass at Blue Heron No. 9 on its Harbourside golf course. The Key Club is also in the process of cutting out fairways and trees and growing new platinum paspalum grass.
Other improvements the Key Club recently completed include increasing the square footage of teeing grounds and reworking fairways to improve drainage and increase landing area. Earth work is underway on the Red Hawk course, where the Key Club will install new greens, then follow with laying the remaining new sod.
