ANOTHER MAN’S TREASURE

9:30 a.m. — 1800 block of Wisteria Street. Suspicion Person. Several anonymous callers reported seeing a man in the neighborhood, who was going through the garbage in the area. When officers located the man, he said he was going through the trash to find items to sell for scrap. The man voluntarily left the area.

WINE AND DASH
10:26 a.m. — 1300 block of South Tamiami Trail. Petit Theft — Shoplifting. A store manager reported a man took a box of wine from the supermarket’s shelf and placed it down the front of his pants. When officers arrived at the scene, the man was at the customer service counter buying a turkey. The officers conducted a search, and found a box of white zinfandel in the front of the man’s pants.

THIRSTY THIEF
10 p.m. — 1400 block of First Street. Burglary — Vehicle/Vessel. A man returned from a bar to find the door to his car had been opened, and his wallet and iPod missing. Because the man opened his door after returning to the car, officers were not able to process the handle for fingerprints, but the suspect may have left a bottle of a sports drink behind.

HEATED ARGUMENT

4:23 p.m. 1700 block of North Washington Boulevard. Dispute/Fight. Officers were dispatched to a laundromat after receiving notice of a dispute between two women. The women were fighting about the use of a dryer. The women were told there were plenty of dryers available.
