+ Woolf returns for ‘American Idol’ tour
Sam Woolf is coming back, but this time on a tour bus with eight former American Idol hopefuls.

The Braden River High graduate will perform as part of the “American Idol Live!” tour at 8 p.m. July 17, at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, 777 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota.

Woolf also will make stops at other Florida cities and venues, including Ruth Eckerd Hall, in Clearwater.

Other former “American Idol” contestants on the tour include season 13 winner Caleb Johnson, Jena Irene, Alex Preston, Jessica Meuse, C.J. Harris, Malaya Watson, Majesty Rose and MK Nobilette.

+ LECOM welcomes dental class of 2018
The Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine welcomed its next class of future dentists during orientation July 11.

The 100 students who make up the School of Dental Medicine’s Class of 2018 mark the school’s third class since LECOM’s East County campus started the school in 2012.

Students started classes July 14.
