EAST COUNTY — As the president of a luxury homebuilding company, Randy Turkovics helps bring blueprints to life for homeowners.

Turkovics leads Sarasota-based Neal Signature Homes, a luxury homebuilder that prides itself on customizing homes as much as possible to meet the needs of its customers.

For Turkovics, no home or customer is the same.

“We give (customers) a starting point, and they take it from there,” Turkovics said. “We allow people to personalize their homes and make them their own.”

The company, which currently features homes throughout East County in Lakewood Ranch Country Clubs East and West, The Inlets and The Concession, is working to add a more tropical community to its family.

Late last week, Neal Signature Homes broke ground on River Wind. The builder anticipates a spring opening.

The new 62-home neighborhood will feature more of a coastal look, rather than the metal-roof accents and decorative front porches of Neal Signature Home’s more Mediterranean homes, Turkovics said.

River Wind sits on 39.7 acres near the intersection of Rye and Upper Manatee River roads. The gated community will feature six models of single- and two-story homes, with layouts ranging from three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a den to four-bedroom homes with a bonus room.

Floor plans range from 2,200 square feet to 3,400 square feet.

All homes will feature a three-car garage, and each has the flexibility to have more bedrooms added.
Home prices start at $350,000 and may reach about $500,000, depending on the number of changes made to the layout.

Another perk the company’s president hopes will attract his target niche — active families with flexible budgets — is the community’s location out east.

“The north border of the property is the Manatee River, where there are walking trails that go along the river,” Turkovics said. “At the rear of the community, there’s a kayak launch, and to the west, Rye Preserve Park. This is a really cool environment for the outdoors lover.”

Neal Signature Homes purchased the property in early July for about $1.3 million.

From the start, Turkovics viewed the spanning farmland as a site for diverse homes that reflect each homeowner’s personality, lifestyle and needs for a functional space, he said.
