Heritage Harbour South CDD adopts 2014-2015 budget

Although the Heritage Harbour South Community Development District supervisors saw the 2014-2015 budget as standard with few changes from the previous year's allocations, Lighthouse Cove community residents disagreed. 

The residents will receive a $21 increase in their annual assessments, as displayed in the 2014-2015 fiscal year budget the CDD adopted at its Aug. 5 meeting. Only reaping the benefits of Heritage Harbour's "dirty ponds" and a few roads, the community's residents who attended the meeting this week disproved of the raised assessment.

The Stoneybrook Golf Club received a $386.55 reduction in its assessment.

Lighthouse Cove requested the installation of 12 speed bumps throughout its community, which the adjustment will go toward if the supervisors approve the construction.

District engineer Rick Schappacher is researching how many speed bumps would deter speeding and the cost associated with speed bump installation. He will present the findings at next month's meeting, Sept. 2.
