'Stuff the Bus' drive nets 131,000 pounds of food

After two days of collecting donations, Manatee County school buses rolled out of the parking lots of 15 Publix stores  with more than 131,000 pounds of food.

School buses were parked in front of every Publix in Manatee County Nov. 23 through Nov. 24, for the District's Stuff the Bus campaign. Collected items were donated to The Food Bank of Manatee County. Publix, The United Way of Manatee County and other groups worked with the school district to orchestrate the event.
