Vocalist Diana Vytell will be appearing at the Venice Theatre Summer Cabaret Festival this Saturday, Aug. 10 and Sunday, Aug. 25. She will be performing a mix of standards, Broadway, and jazz tunes in “Live, Laugh, Love” at the 90-seat cabaret theater.

A versatile performer, Vytell has appeared professionally as a soloist with orchestras, theaters and opera houses throughout the U.S. and Europe, most notably with members of the Yale Strings, New York Philharmonic and with the Sarasota Pops.

She is equally at home in intimate settings, having performed at New York’s prestigious Algonquin Room, regionally at the American Stage’s cabaret room in St. Petersburg and Home Resource in Sarasota.

“'Live, Laugh, and Love' came about when I thought it would be fun to choose songs from my previous one-woman shows,” Vytell said. “What I discovered was I had a new show that parallels the two acts of our lives.  Because art imitates life, and vice-versa, it was a wonderful opportunity to use standards, Broadway and some jazz tunes to support that concept.”

Vytell is no stranger to the Venice Theatre cabaret stage where she last performed in "The Vagina Monologues." Joining her will be pianist and the festival’s musical director, Bobby Brader.

“I like to sing a variety of songs, which show off different styles,” Vytell said.  “I believe through music, the audience and I can share a special connection. This is so important in this techno age where we have intimate relationships with our computers and smart phones. I am completely committed to cabaret!”

Fifteen percent of the proceeds from "Live, Laugh, Love" will be donated to The Loveland Center for adults with disabilities. For more information and tickets, visit the Venice Theatre website.
