+ First Watch finds roomier corporate headquarters
First Watch, a breakfast-brunch-lunch chain, is getting a bigger corporate headquarters.

The company will move about a mile west to a Benderson Development office park just on University Parkway just west of I-75. Benderson is working with First Watch on a build-to-suit project for a 10,500-square-foot space. The company, which operates about 100 restaurants in 13 states, currently leases a 7,500-square-foot headquarters in Lakewood Ranch, east of I-75.

First Watch, one of the largest privately owned daytime-only restaurant chains in the country, operates both corporate-owned and franchise stores. In addition to room for more corporate employees, the new headquarters will include a training room with space for at least 50 franchisees. The space will likely be ready by November.

+ Center For Sight first to launch laser for cataract surgery
Center For Sight CEO David Shoemaker, M.D. became the first doctor in the nation to use the LensAR Laser Cataract procedure Aug. 1.

The laser can treat severe cataracts in minutes. A handheld blade is normally used for cataract surgeries, however, after the LensAR laser’s launch, handheld blades will be limited to a supporting role.

+ Center researches pain treatment option
Coastal Orthopedics & Pain Management is the first site in the U.S. to conduct the SENZA-RCT study, which investigates the safety and efficacy of the Senza High-Frequency Spinal Cord Stimulation System in patients with chronic pain.

The SENZA product delivers electrical pulses with small electrodes that are placed near the spinal cord and connected to a battery-powered generator implanted under the skin.

Coastal Orthopedics will evaluate SENZA-RCT through control clinical trials of 300 patients located at 15 centers across the nation.

+ Re/Max Realtor Group forms management alliance
Re/Max Alliance Group announced its professional property managers have formed an alliance to manage residential properties in Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte counties.

Goga Studios will open in Lakewood Ranch
Vibration-based workout studio Goga Studios will open Oct. 6, in Lakewood Ranch.

The studio uses vibration technology to aid individuals who struggle with traditional workouts or have physical limitations by offering the use of oscillating vibration platform. The machine uses a side-alternating rocking movement, similar to walking, to produce vertical vibrations and cause the body to react with involuntary reflex muscle contractions.
