It’s that time, again! The holiday celebrating fathers and grandfathers everywhere is quickly approaching, and we could think of no other way to honor those special men in your lives than by bringing you The Observer’s annual Father’s Day Q&A featuring their adorable offspring. Here’s what the kids at the Boys & Girls Club of Sarasota County had to say about their daddies.

What makes your dad the best dad?
Every time it’s my birthday, he always gets me a special present, but usually the best present he gives every day is a hug and a kiss.
What’s your favorite book to read with him?
I think the Bible.
When’s your dad the funniest?
Definitely when he jokes around and he makes up words, and sometimes he just does spectacular jokes.
How are you celebrating Father’s Day?
Hopefully we’re gonna do a daddy-daughter date night, but before we do that, I’m hoping to give him his special present.

What makes your dad the best dad?
He plays with me and he cares about me. He helps me with my homework and says goodnight to me every night before I go to bed and he’s very loving.
What’s your favorite book to read with him?
Yeah, the Bible … sometimes during the day I don’t get time to catch up on my Bible, so sometimes he helps me with words that I don’t know.
When is your dad the funniest?
I was walking to my room and then I got under the covers and then he put his big, scary mask on and came in and was like, “Rawrrr!” And then I was so scared I almost panicked — I was sweating so hard.

Lawyer, nice and funny.
Why do you love your dad?
Because he does a lot of stuff for me. When I have homework and there’s something that I don’t know, he helps me with it.
What’s his favorite food?
I think it’s spaghetti.
Where’s your favorite place to go with your dad?
Disney … and football games.
How are you celebrating Father’s Day?
I don’t know. My mom didn’t tell me yet.

When is your dad the funniest?
We played a joke on my dad one day, me and my sister. We put whipped cream in his hand, tickled his nose … and then he woke up. The next thing you know, (he said), “What is that on my face?” It was really funny.
What’s his favorite food?
Ribs.
Why do you love your dad?
He’s awesome. He’s a loving dad. He plays games with us — Battleship, Connect 4, my Wii, my PlayStation.
Where’s your favorite place to go with your dad?
McDonald’s, Wet & Wild and Aquatica.

When’s your dad the funniest?
He’s funny when he’s asleep because he talks in his sleep … he slaps his face when we tickle him.
What’s his favorite food?
Green beans.
Why do you love your dad?
Because he’s amazing. He plays sports with us, like basketball, football and baseball.

The water park, the beach.
