Manatee County middle and high schools swept the Florida Technology Student Association Conference this weekend, claiming two state championships and other awards.
In the high school division, Southeast High School took the championship title for its overall performance, with Braden River High following in a close second. Lakewood Ranch High placed third, beating out dozens of schools from throughout the state.
Nolan Middle School also captured the overall championship title. Haile Middle School placed fourth overall.
More than 300 Manatee County public school students competed in the event, which was held Feb. 25-26 at Amelia Island.
