County defers maintenance facility proposal

Manatee County has postponed indefinitely moving forward with building a maintenance facility in North Manatee.

During their regularly-scheduled land-use meeting today, the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners had been set to consider a North County Transportation Maintenance Facility for property between Erie Road and 69th Street East in Parrish, but the county has deferred the item as it staff looks for alternative options.

Commissioners still will consider proposals to build a veterinary clinic off State Road 70, adjacent to the Braden Pines neighborhood, and a 21,800-square-foot shopping center at 10208 State Road 64 E., Bradenton.

The meeting starts at 9 a.m. today, at the county’s administrative building, 1112 Manatee Avenue W. Bradenton.
