County plans staffing cuts

In continued efforts to streamline and downsize operations, Manatee County will cut an additional 54 positions.

The workforce reductions are part of a balanced budget proposal that County Administrator Ed Hunzeker was slated to the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners this week. The budget presentation will start at 1:30 p.m., June 1 in the first floor chambers of the Manatee County administrative building, 1112 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.

The county has cut 237 positions since 2007.
