Mote Marine will hold public, educational turtle walks at 6:45 a.m. Saturdays in June and July beginning at the Hilton Longboat Key Beachfront Resort, 4711 Gulf of Mexico Drive.

Participants should meet at the hotel pool area to begin the 1.5-mile walk of Longboat Key’s beach, during which a guide will present information about sea turtles, other local wildlife and ocean issues. The guide will also describe how scientists and volunteers look for signs of turtle nesting and the ways in which they document and interpret these signs.

Reservations are not required. Children must be accompanied by an adult. For information, call 388-4441.
