Commission holds regular meeting tonight

The Longboat Key Town Commission will review a request to change a street name at its regular meeting at 7 p.m. tonight.

A request has been made by a real estate developer to change the name of Triton Avenue to Triton Ben.

Town Attorney David Persson also has requested the commission postpone reviewing a resolution that would submit changes to its Comprehensive Plan until 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 15.

Also at its regular meeting at Town Hall, 501 Bay Isles Road, the commission will:

Consider adopting:
• An ordinance that provides for Internal Revenue Service compliance with the Firefighters Pension Board.

Consider passing:
• A resolution that executes a three-year renewal agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation for mowing and litter collection along Gulf of Mexico Drive right-of-ways.
