Westchester unit destroyed by fire

A first-floor unit at the 72-unit Westchester condominium was “completely destroyed” by a fire that occurred last night, according to Longboat Key Fire Chief Paul Dezzi.

The state fire marshal is investigating the fire, according to Dezzi. No civilians were injured, although a Longboat Key firefighter was treated for a minor burn to his back.
