Manatee County is seeking to fill a vacancy on the Planning Commission, a board that advises Manatee County Board of County Commissioners on land-use issues.

Applications are being accepted through Jan. 20 for the position. The four-year term would begin immediately. The seven-member board meets at 9.m. on the second Thursday of each month, at the Manatee County Administrative Building.

Planning commissioners are given a $60 stipend per meeting. Planning commissioners may not hold an elected office, be employed by the board or be a member of another development-related advisory board.

Applications can be found online at www.mymanatee.org/advisory_boards.
