Body found on University Parkway

Authorities have identified a body found at the eastern end of University Parkway as 29-year old Nicole Rose Scott, of Sarasota.

Manatee County Sheriff's office officials said the body was discovered by a man who was riding his motorcycle in the area. The body was in a ditch to the north of University Parkway.

Detectives are treating the case as a homicide.

An autopsy was scheduled for today.
